On Saturday, March 18, 2023 the closing ceremony of “LankaBangla Finance Presents 2nd DRMC Model United Nation Conference-2023” powered by Trust Bank Limited was organized by Dhaka Residential Model College (DRMC). The closing ceremony of the three day long carnival, which began on March 16, 2023, was presided over by the Principal of the College, Brigadier General Kazi Shamim Farhad, NDC, PSC, and the Honorable Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Abul Kalam Abdul Momen, joined virtually as the Chief Guest. Moreover, Mohammad Hafiz Al Ahad, Head of Human Resources Division of LankaBangla Finance; Former Head of the United Nations Md. Moniruzzaman and Attorney General Abu Mohammad Amin were also present as special guests at the Conference closing program.
More than four hundred students from 63 renowned schools, colleges and universities of the country participated in the session of 12 committees like the United Nations in the three days long conference. In association with college clubs, the conference also attended by government and private officials, invited guests, parents, students, teachers, officers and employees of various educational institutions. The Head of Human Resource Division of LankaBangla Finance, Mohammad Hafiz Al Ahad exchanged greetings with the participants and praised Dhaka Residential Model College and DRMC Model United Nations Club for arranging the program.
Through this conference, the participating delegates get an opportunity to practice public speaking, social communication skills, comprehension skills, research work, discussion, group work, human interaction etc. by practicing and imitating the activities of the United Nations in an appropriate and friendly environment. Through such arrangements, students will become proficient in diplomatic etiquette, confident behavior and open-mindedness.
